Eagle Pass North Agents Seize 160 Pounds of Weed
Subjects Arrested; One U.S. Citizen, One Mexican National
Del Rio, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Eagle Pass North Station seized more than 160 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated value of $128,000.
.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Eagle Pass North Station seized more than 160 pounds of marijuana after discovered several bundles containing 80 individually-wrapped packages in the backseat of the vehicle.
Thursday afternoon, agents responded to suspicious activity near FM 1644 near Quemado. While en route to the location, agents encountered a vehicle speeding away from the area. The agents conducted a traffic stop and discovered several bundles containing 80 individually-wrapped packages of marijuana with a total weight of 160 pounds in the backseat of the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was a US citizen from Eagle Pass with a Mexican national as a passenger.
Two subjects were arrested and turned over, along with the contraband, to the Drug Enforcement Agency.
