Toronto continues collective bargaining with TCEU Local 416


(Toronto – Ontario Canada) Just after Midnight this morning, the City of Toronto has released an official
statement in reference to ongoing negotiations with TCEU. According to a released statement by the
City, “At the request of the mediator, The City has been requested to continue its efforts to bargain a
new collective agreement and will extend the deadline following which it will implement terms and
 conditions. The release mentions a 2am update, no new information has been received at this time.

TCEU is also known as the Toronto Civic Employees Union, Local 416 of the Canadian Union of Public
Employees (CUPE). The union reportedly represents over 8,000 City of Toronto workers who provide
many of the quality public servers that help make the City such a great City. The union has been in place
since 1917, according to their website.
