Kentland Drug Dealer Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison

GREENBELT, MD—U.S. District Judge Alexander Williams, Jr. sentenced Demeco A., Savoy, a/k/a “Mickey,” age 32, of Laurel, Maryland, today to 10 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute crack cocaine.
The sentence was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Special Agent in Charge Richard A. McFeely of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and Chief Mark A. Magaw of the Prince George’s County Police Department.
According to Savoy’s guilty plea, from June 2010 through August 2011, Savoy was part of a drug distribution organization that operated in the Kentland area of Prince George’s County. During the conspiracy Savoy and others used cellular telephones to conduct their drug trafficking business. Law enforcement intercepted numerous conversations between Savoy and his co-conspirators in which they used coded language of discuss the purchase of cocaine. Savoy was also overheard discussing the quality of the drugs he had purchased.
