Agents Participate in Community Events

Tucson, Ariz. –Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents and support personnel participated in various events during the holidays to benefit local communities.

On Wednesday, the American Red Cross mobile collection bus arrived at the Naco Border Patrol Station. Agents and mission support personnel turned out in force, resulting in a successful blood drive with 40 units of blood collected and an increase from previous years.

Last week, agents from the Nogales Border Patrol Community Relations Unit participated in “Serving Lunch to the Elderly,” an event organized by the Nogales Police Department. Food was prepared and served to approximately forty residents of the Monte Carlo subdivision in Nogales.

Tucson Sector Border Patrol remains committed to lending a helping hand while keeping border communities safe. Fostering positive relationships with the people we serve and protect is important to agents and carries special significance during the holidays.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
