Important Announcement About the CBP Officer Competency-Based Assessments for Supervisory/Managerial Promotion

Due to a lower-than-expected participation in the October 13–November 7 CBP Officer Competency-Based Assessments CEI-Only submission opportunity, implementation of new CEI scores will be postponed until May 31, 2012, the regular, annual effective date for new CBP Officer assessment scores. This provides candidates another opportunity to submit the new CEI during the annual assessment opportunity which will open November 21–December 9 on USAJobs. Candidates who submitted a CEI in the CEI-Only opportunity need not submit a new CEI at that time; their CEI-Only submission will be scored with the November/December submissions on May 31, 2012. Candidates with a prior, scored CBP Officer CEI who did not submit a new CEI in the October/November opportunity and who fail to submit one in the regular November/December opening will receive no points on the new and revised CEI questions, and their prior CEI and Total scores will decrease accordingly on May 31, 2012.
